Apollo Sunguard announces new parking shade project in southwest Florida

SARASOTA, FL – Apollo Sunguard is pleased to announce it has been awarded the contract to provide shade over 74 parking spaces for Phase II of Jacaranda Trace in Venice, Florida.

Jacaranda Trace is an exclusive gated retirement community consisting of condos and free-standing villas in tropical Venice, Florida. The 33-acre Mediterranean-style campus includes an 86,000 square foot clubhouse, luxurious facilities, first-class amenities and professional services.

This 8-story, 201-unit condominium building is an addition to an existing campus, and at 430,000 square feet it will be the largest structural steel building in Sarasota County. The installed parking lot shade structures will be an added site amenity for Jacaranda Trace residents and their guests…decreasing the internal temperature of vehicles by up to 116 degrees over vehicles parking in the open sun.

Jacaranda Trace’s general contractor, Power Contracting of Palmetto, Florida, was extremely impressed with Apollo Sunguard’s innovative X-11 Eclipse line of modular cantilevers. The unique curve of the X-11 Eclipse optimizes shade and solar protection – reducing the damage caused by ultraviolet radiation, heat and hail. Utilizing a modular design concept, the X-11 Eclipse is designed to be interconnected to form infinite lengths of continuous shade with no gaps in sun protection. Apollo Sunguard will provide 74 shaded parking spaces with attached lighting. Installation is scheduled to be completed by early Fall.
